Netflix’s Paper Lives: A Heart-Warming Story That Touches Your Soul

Netflix just recently released the trailer for its film Paper Lives which takes us on a heart-warming journey of a small boy Ali who was left on the streets to fend for himself. Mehmet is a waste picker who tries to make a living for himself while collecting waste when he finds Ali, a little boy who has been left to fend for himself. Mehmet takes him under his protection and they slowly form an unlikely affectionate bond.

Cagatay Ulusoy, Emir Ali Dogrul, and Ersin Arici play the leading roles in this film while Can Ulkay takes the director’s seat for this one. Paper Lives is a Turkish film and forms part of Netflix’s strategy to create inroads in the middle east.

While the story of paper Lives revolves around a lovely bond that is formed between Mehmet and Ali it also forces Mehmet to confront his traumatic past. He is forced to question all the decisions ever taken by his loved ones. The real question though is whether he will be able to protect himself and Ali?

We do not always live in a perfect world and the harsh reality is that people can become insensitive towards other people and their problems at times due to our frantic lifestyle. It is so easy to forget about those who have nothing or nobody for themselves. Paper Lives is a story of a waste picker who reaches out and makes us believe in the existence of humanity once again.

Paper Lives will stream on Netflix on 12th March.
