Netflix’s ‘Penguin Town’ Gives Us A Never-Seen-Before Look At African Penguins!

Yep, you read that right. African Penguins. In some ways, one of the biggest oxymorons out there, actually.

‘Penguin Town’ is a Netflix original documentary series, produced and narrated by comedian Patton Oswalt. The trailer for this upcoming docu-series released a few hours ago, and it is very cute, although quite confusing initially. Check out the trailer for this series, at the end of this article.

When we think of penguins in general, we think of ice, snow and/ or Antartica (sometimes even the north pole). ‘Penguin Town’ will quickly change our “outdated mindset”, let’s say, as it shows us the six-month travel plans made by African penguins (yep, still sounds bizarre) during their summer hibernation period. The trailer is quite brilliant and surprisingly engrossing.

As the trailer mentions, these cute creatures descend upon Simon’s Town, South Africa, every summer and take over the port city. They then find a mate and try to create more penguins in that time period while fighting off all kinds of natural and man-made disasters along the way. We can see these flightless birds up close and personal, with Patton Oswalt’s guiding voice keeping us company, through this entire journey.

If you guys are looking for a web series to relax and watch, we would recommend ‘Penguin Town’. The docu-series is releasing in the middle of the next month and we can’t wait for it to drop.

Penguin Town‘, the documentary series will premiere on Netflix on June 16th 2021.
