Netflix recently released a short clip from their upcoming horror comedy series titled ‘Wednesday’. Opening with “In a world full of normies, do you feel like an outcast?”, the clip is intriguing and fun and gives a bit more glimpse into the series than the teaser did.
The clip details the school for outcasts in the series called Nevermore Academy. The mission of the school is established as “to help each student master their unique abilities”. Serving as a promotional video for the fictional school, the video informs fans of how they can become students of the dark and spooky school by going to a website specified( https://NevermoreAcademy.com ). A short and efficient marketing strategy, the move is aimed at immersing the fans into the world of the ‘Wednesday’ series.
‘Wednesday’ is a coming-of-age supernatural mystery comedy focusing on Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega) and her years as a high school student at Nevermore Academy, joining her parent’s alma mater to master her psychic abilities and this forms the basic premise of the series. There she stops a monstrous killing spree of the town citizens and even solves the supernatural mystery that affected her family 25 years ago
Netflix has been at the top in the fantasy genre lately with ‘Sandman’ too becoming a huge hit, both critically and amongst normal viewers. In all probability, ‘Wednesday’ might continue the success. Another factor that has fans excited besides the fun clips released is seeing Gwendoline Christie (Brian of Tarth from GOT) as the headmistress of the academy. The headmistress seems deliciously wicked and Gwendoline looks like she’s having the time of her life playing a grey character after playing Lucifer in ‘Sandman’. Also co-starring Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, and Isaac Ordonez, the characters already have an established fan base, and ‘Wednesday’ is one of the most anticipated series of the year.
