In a moment of pride for Indian entertainment, Hansal Mehta’s web series “Scoop” secured two prestigious awards at the Asia Contents Awards & Global OTT Awards 2023 held in Busan, South Korea. The series, available on Netflix, was honoured with the titles of Best Asian TV Series and Best Actress, which was awarded to the talented Karishma Tanna.

“Scoop” had earned nominations in both these categories, and its victory is a testament to its exceptional storytelling and compelling performances. Hansal Mehta, the director, celebrated this remarkable achievement on his social media account, sharing the exciting news with his followers.

Karishma Tanna, who played a pivotal role in “Scoop,” was present at the ceremony to collect her award.

“Scoop” is based on Jigna Vora’s book “Behind Bars In Byculla” and follows the gripping tale of Jagruti Vora, an intrepid crime reporter portrayed by Karishma Tanna. The series delves into the intricacies of investigative journalism and the risks journalists face in pursuit of truth. Set against the backdrop of a journalist’s murder, the storyline takes unexpected turns, leading to Jagruti’s false arrest and her quest for justice.

At Binged as well, we highly appreciated the series which is amazing in so many ways. Congratulations to Netflix India, Hansal Mehta, Karishma Tanna and everyone involved in the making of the series.
