By Binged Bureau - Nov 27, 2020 @ 01:11 pm

A recent Turkish drama is taking Turkey by storm and definitely for all the right reasons. “Ethos” released on Netflix is a 8 episode web series that is so beautifully and intricately woven that will leave the viewer spellbound. Directed by Berkun Oya, who has its foundation in the theatricals. The show is focused on few characters from Istanbul that is connected to each other in a way that they don’t even know the connection. Only the viewers will know and see the connection between them.

The show is focused on an array of critical topics that will definitely be the point of discussion in a country that has all kinds of orthodox and also unorthodox people living in it. It has been the new sensation at the moment.

The story follows the journey of a house help Meryem, her brother and his wife, her psychiatrist, the psychiatrist’s friend and a young girl who is questioning her sexuality and her overly orthodox father that questions her for her choice to go to college.

A show that someway or the other brings into the loop topics that most people shy about, is designed to spread like wild fire. A show that talks about virginity, psychological issues, depression, sexuality, infidelity and everything that is questioned in today’s world is all bought together in this show.

Even though the show is short but the way the characters and stories a put together, one will be instantly pulled. These are the reasons and topics that are being discussed so openly in the show, that is what is bringing the show to the forefront and people not only from Turkey but all over the world should definitely watch this and understand the intricacies and beautifully written story that without fail has impressed the Turkish intellectuals. One needs to thank Oya for bringing in such a discussion in a country where these are seldom talked about. It is a show that is supposed to break stereootypes in the society and bring the point of discussion and awareness amongst the people for all the right reasons.
