We, at Binged, had informed our readers about Netflix picking up Fair Play at the Sundance Film Festival 2023. Director Chloe Domont’s ‘Fair Play’ was one of the most talked about films at Sundance 2023. Netflix reportedly paid a whopping amount to pick up global rights for ‘Fair Play’, to the tune $20M as per reports.

The ‘Fair Play’ trailer is fast-paced and gripping, giving hint to the kind of film it is. The searing film centres on gender conflicts and the subsequent powerplay at the workplace. It shines a light on the deep-rooted masculine insecurity and the fragile male ego when confronted with a strong, driven woman. The movie explores the true price of success, the unnerving limits of ambition, and the destructive gender dynamics that pit partners against each other.

Phoebe Dynevor (Bridgerton) and Alden Ehrenreich (Oppenheimer) play the leads in ‘Fair Play’. The film is directed by Chloe Domont (Billions, Suits), and produced by Rian Johnson’s T-Street, along with MRC. Eddie Marsan, Rich Sommer, and Sebastian De Souza play critical roles in the film.

The official synopsis of Fair Play reads – “When a coveted promotion at a cutthroat financial firm arises, once supportive exchanges between lovers Emily (Phoebe Dynevor) and Luke (Alden Ehrenreich) begin to sour into something more sinister. As the power dynamics irrevocably shift in their relationship, the couple must face the true price of success and the unnerving limits of ambition. In her feature debut, writer-director Chloe Domont weaves a taut relationship thriller, staring down the destructive gender dynamics that pit partners against each other in a world that is transforming faster than the rules can keep up.”
