Netflix’s ‘Terminator Zero’ Anime Series: Release Date & First Look Pics

Entertainment Weekly has dropped a new set of first-look images from Netflix’s ‘Terminator Zero’ anime series. In addition, the show has received a release window. It will arrive on the streaming platform on August 29. It will consist of eight action-packed episodes.

Mattson Tomlin serves as the show’s creator and one of its executive producers. Prominent Japanese animator Masashi Kudo has helmed the series. Kudo is best known for his work on popular anime series like Bleach, Hayate the Combat Butler, Re-Kan!, Chain Chronicle: The Light of Haecceitas, Tower of God, and more.

Skydance’s Dana Goldberg, Don Granger, and David Ellison have also co-executively produced the series. Production IG (Ghost in the Shell, Blood+, Psycho-Pass) is the animation studio.

Instead of focusing on Sarah Connor or John Connor, ‘Terminator Zero’ will take place in Japan in 1997, right on the brink of Judgement Day. However, the show’s basic storyline looks pretty familiar: A soldier from the future (2022) gets sent back in time to protect Malcolm Lee, a scientist who works hard to launch a competing artificial intelligence to Skynet. An evil Terminator looks to hunt Lee as well, a scenario that puts the lives of his children in grave danger.

All episodes of the ‘Terminator Zero’ anime series will arrive on Netflix on August 29. Stay tuned for more updates.
