Netflix has just unveiled the first full-fledged trailer for its highly anticipated fantasy film, ‘The School For Good And Evil’. Netflix also confirmed the release date for the film. ‘The School For Good And Evil‘ is set to premiere on Netflix worldwide on October 19.
The first trailer for the Netflix Original film shows off Kerry Washington as Professor Dovey, who runs the School of Good, and Charlize Theron as Lady Lesso, who runs the School of Evil. Into this fantasy world land young teenaged girls and best friends, Sophie (Sophie Anne Caruso) and Agatha (Sofia Wylie). The girls are picked up by a giant bird and taken to the School for Good and Evil, where ordinary boys and girls are trained to be fairy tale heroes and villains. With her princess ambitions, Sophie thinks she’ll be picked for the School for Good and join the ranks of past students like Cinderella and Snow White. Meanwhile, grim Agatha, seems a natural fit for the villains in the School for Evil.
But the girls find their fortunes reversed. Sophie is dropped into the School for Evil, while Agatha is sent to the School for Good. The girls learn the tricks of the trade alongside Wicked Witch (Freya Parks), Captain Hook (Earl Cave), and King Arthur’s son (Jamie Flatters). As the girls struggle to make sense of their situation, they must find a way to get back home, even as their friendship is put to the test like never before.
The trailer also gives us fleeting glimpses of the other cast members, Michelle Yeoh, Laurence Fishbourne, Kit Young, Rachel Bloom, Peter Serafinowicz, Mark Heap and Patti LuPone. The School For Good And Evil is directed by Paul Feig (Bridesmaids, Ghostbusters, A Simple Favor), from a screenplay by David Magee (Life Of Pi) and Vanessa Taylor. It is adapted from the best-selling young adult novel series of the same name, written by Soman Chainani, author of Indian descent.
