Netflix has unveiled the first look image of its upcoming feature adaptation of Richard Osman’s 2020 novel, The Thursday Murder Club. In its latest tweet, the streamer also confirms the start of the production.
The Thursday Murder Club cast is brimmed with talents such as Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, Ben Kingsley, Celia Imrie, David Tennant, Jonathan Pryce, Naomi Ackie, Daniel Mays, Henry Lloyd-Hughes, Richard E. Grant, Paul Freeman, Sarah Niles, Ingrid Oliver, and more.
The following first look from the forthcoming Chris Columbus directional shows author Richard Osman with Mirren, Brosnan, Imrie, and Kingsley.
The above image appears to be the set of the games room from the retirement house – where the primary characters meet up every Thursday to solve intriguing and mysterious cases.
Brosnan and Mirren will play Ron Ritchie (a former union leader) and Elizabeth Best (a retired spy). Alongside them, we will see Imrie and Kingsley portraying the characters of Joyce Meadowcroft (a former nurse) and Ibrahim Arif (a former psychiatrist), respectively.
Amblin Entertainment is producing The Thursday Murder Club. Harry Potter and Home Alone fame Chris Columbus is helming it, working on the screenplay written by Katy Brand. The filming commenced on June 27. Netflix will hopefully reveal the movie’s release window soon. Stay tuned for more updates.
