All the episodes for the Netflix fantasy drama series ‘The Witcher’ Season-3 are out now. And it’s the last season to feature Henry Cavill in the lead role. But sadly, the show’s third season has failed to impress the audience. ‘The Witcher S3’ is incidentally the worst rated season until now as per audience feedback.
Although the third season of ‘The Witcher’ has received a decent critics’ score of 76% on reviews aggregation portal Rotten Tomatoes, its audience score on the same website is dramatically different from its critics’ score. ‘The Witcher Season-3’ currently holds an abysmally low audience score of just 22% on Rotten Tomatoes.
If we compare the audience score of ‘The Witcher Season-3’ with the first two seasons, let us tell you that ‘The Witcher Season-1’ and ‘The Witcher Season-2’ have got audience scores of 89% and 56%, respectively, on Rotten Tomatoes.
Moreover, on another popular entertainment website IMDb, the average user rating for the first two seasons of ‘The Witcher’ are 8.3/10 and 8/10, respectively. On the other hand, ‘The Witcher Season-3’ holds a below average IMDb user rating of around 5.8/10 as of now.
So, as far as the audience feedback on Rotten Tomatoes and IMDb is concerned, ‘The Witcher S3’ is much inferior to the first two seasons. The general feedback from the audience is that the show’s third season suffers from pacing issues, sub-par dialogues, and Henry Cavill’s less screen time.
Having said that, ‘The Witcher Season-3’ has excelled so far with respect to viewing hours. The show was recently listed on the second place of Nielsen overall top ten streaming list for the week of 26th June to 2nd July 2023 with an impressive 1.3 billion minutes of viewing under its belt.
‘The Witcher Season-3’ features Henry Cavill as ‘Geralt of Rivia’, a professional monster hunter with special powers. His destiny makes him cross paths with Princess Ciri and the sorceress Yennefer of Vengerberg as they navigate their way through a corrupt medieval fantasy world called The Continent. The show’s third season is inspired by the second part of Andrzej Sapkowski’s Witcher book series titled ‘Time of Contempt’.
