The filming for Netflix’s Wednesday Season 2 has officially kicked off, confirmed by the newly released announcement video from the streaming service. In addition, the upcoming season will feature 12 new actors.
Season 2’s production has commenced in Ireland. On the other hand, the first season was mainly shot in Romania.
The upcoming season will feature the series’ regulars: Jenna Ortega, Emma Myers, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Isaac Ordonez, Luis Guzman, and Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo. Percy Hynes White will not return for the second season. Apart from these talents, Season 2 will have a dozen new talents, with Steve Buscemi, Evie Templeton, Noah Taylor, Owen Painter, and Billie Piper being cast as the series’ regulars.
In addition, Wednesday Season 2 will have plenty of guest stars: Joanna Lumley, Thandiwe Newton, Christopher Lloyd, Frances O’Connor, Heather Matarazzo, Joonas Suotamo, and Haley Joel Osment. Lloyd also portrayed Uncle Fester in the 1991 Addams Family movie.
Wednesday dominated Netflix upon arrival, shattering streaming records. Within three weeks, it climbed to the second-most watched Netflix series ever, reaching over 150 million households and surpassing 1 billion viewing hours by December 2022.
