Netflix is producing another Royalty based fictional TV series; this time the Netflix original will be based off the Swedish royalty. This upcoming web series is called ‘Young Royals’ and the series will follow young Prince Wilhelm who is dropped off at a boarding school after public misconduct. A short teaser dropped a couple of hours ago about this upcoming coming-of-age web series and it can be viewed at the end of this article.
The one minute teaser for ‘Young Royals’, shows Young Wilhelm sitting with his family in front of the press. He apologises for his action while attending a club (of sorts) and he has decided to enroll at the Hillerska boarding school, which is known for its strictness to discipline. The young royal is then seen to be taken to the private institution, where he will spend his next three years. He is apprehensive about his situation, but it turns out that Hillerska boarding school is not what it seems. Prince Wilhelm slowly starts to settle down at his new home as he starts to find himself in the institute.
After the epicly-engrossing British drama series ‘Royals’ (which was based off the fictional book ‘Falling for Hamlet’ by Michelle Ray) ended back in 2018, many viewers were left with an “itch” for some royal drama. True, ‘The Crown’ proved that fact was definitely better than fiction, especially if it was dramatized and now it is one of the most watched TV series on the planet. So Netflix decided to capitalize on the broad appeal of Royalty and make another web series based on this fascinating subject for their subscription base.
‘Young Royals’ will premiere on Netflix on July 1st 2021.
