New ‘Black Mirror’ Season 6 In The Works At Netflix

Streaming behemoth Netflix is finally developing a new season of its blockbuster series ‘Black Mirror‘. As per a report in Variety, Black Mirror Season 6 is in the works at Netflix. Charlie Brooker and Annabel Jones, original creators of the show, will return to helm the new season of Black Mirror at Netflix.

For those who don’t know, ‘Black Mirror’ is an anthology show on Netflix that narrates a uniquely different story in each episode. The stories are dark and dystopian, with each presenting the pitfalls of humans being in the grip of too much technology, and the repercussions of technology controlling and manipulating our lives. Netflix describes Black Mirror as a sci-fi anthology series that explores a twisted, high-tech near-future where humanity’s greatest innovations and darkest instincts collide.

Previous seasons of Black Mirror have seen actors like Daniel Kaluuya, Jodie Whittaker, Hayley Atwell, Daniel Rigby, Wyatt Russell, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Mackenzie Davis, Jesse Plemons, Douglas Hodge, Letitia Wright, Anthony Mackie, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Miley Cyrus and Andrew Scott among others, portray the protagonists of myriad episodes. There’s no word on the casting of Black Mirror Season 6 yet.

Black Mirror Season 6 will reportedly have more episodes than the much shorter, previous Season 5. The episodes will be larger than life, with each episode being created on the scale of an individual film. The Black Mirror new season will include all the elements that have made Black Mirror such a beloved show for audiences.

The new season of Black Mirror returns after a gap of three years, largely due to the ownership of the creative rights of the show changing hands a couple of times. Black Mirror Season 5 had streamed on Netflix in June 2019.
