Amazon Prime’s upcoming action thriller web series, ‘Jack Reacher’ has three new additional cast members – Malcolm Goodwin from iZombie, Willa Fitzgerald from ‘Scream’ and Chris Webster from ‘Most Dangerous Game’. These three join Alan Ritchson who will portray the titular character on the show. This Amazon original series is based on the character from Lee Child’s international best sellers series of the same name.
Malcolm Goodwin will portray another cop in this series (known for portraying a detective on the hit series iZombie), Chief Detective Oscar Finlay, a Harvard-educated man and tweed suit-wearing Northerner who relocated to the small town of Margrave to take up a job in the Margrave Police Department recently. Willa Fitzgerald is set to portray Roscoe Conklin, a Margrave native who works as an officer in the Margrave PD. Chris Webster will portray KJ, an entitled son of a businessman and town benefactor, Kliner.
Nick Santora has written the script for the first season which will be based on the first Jack Reacher novel, ‘The Killing Floor’, set in Georgia. Santora will also act as the showrunner for the series and he alongside Amazon Studios, Skydance Television and Paramount Television Studios will be producing this upcoming web series.
Tom Cruise had previously portrayed the titular character on the silver screen, twice. Many fans of the book series were disappointed by the size difference of the character on screen and the character in the books, as there was a vastly huge build difference. The casting of Ritchman has pleased fans, due to his closeness in physique to the Jack Reacher from the novel series.
Ritchson has also recently revealed that each season will adapt one book from the novel series, starting with the previously mentioned ‘The Killing Floor’. The series will show how the character picks apart a crime scene to find clues and then piece it all back together, just like the book series.
