J.K Rowling did not just write one of the best-selling novel series in history, but also created a timeless legacy with ‘Harry Potter’. Since then, the British author has been in the headlines several times: for reasons both pleasant and not.
Most recently, she was in the news because of an upcoming adaptation of her famous children’s short story ‘The Christmas Pig’. The project is in its earliest stages of development and so far, a production company has not yet been attached. The story was first published in 2021.
The book narrates the story of Jack, who loses his childhood toy Dur Pig (nicknamed DP) on Christmas Eve. Although he is offered a replacement called Christmas Pig, he misses his loyal old friend and casts Christmas Pig (CP) aside. What ensues is a light-hearted yet perilous voyage including larger-than-life characters – even Santa Claus – to bring DP back from the Land of the Lost.
Having drawn inspiration from her sons’ toy pigs, Rowling is renowned for having authored the “Cormoran Strike” series under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith. Her other famous works include the Fantastic Beasts franchise, ‘The Casual Vacancy’, ‘Career of Evil’, and more!
Alongside fans of the author’s works, we’re waiting with bated breath for further updates about the project too!
