Disney+Hotstar created a new record today as it gathered the highest number of live views in today’s match.
Today, India and Pakistan faced each other in the ICC Men’s World Cup and there was much excitement throughout the country for such an interesting match. This is not just a regular OTT record, but on all formats, this is the highest number of viewers watching a live match.
The 35 million concurrent views on Disney+Hotstar broke the previous record of 32 million live views on JioCinema that the platform gathered only this year during a highly anticipated IPL match. In the IPL final, Viacom18’s JioCinema made the humongous record, and now Disney+Hotstar has replaced JioCinema once again.
This new record, however, ensures a bright future for the sports streaming industry and there is no doubt that the industry will go further and higher in the next few years.
In today’s match, India beat Pakistan by seven wickets in the Narendra Modi Stadium, a big win indeed. Rohit Sharma made a big 86 run innings.
