New Star Wars Animated Series To Be Set In The High Republic!!

A few days after 2021, ‘Star Wars: The High Republic’ will officially begin with Charles Soule’s ‘The High Republic: Light of the Jedi’. To people who are behind the times, ‘Star Wars: The High Republic’ is a Star Wars storyline which will be explored through a series of graphic novels – starting with the aforementioned ‘Star Wars: The High Republic’.

Huge efforts have been made to get the series off the ground, and now reports are coming (from Cinelinx) in, stating that this will not just be “comic book efforts “alone. A new animated series is expected to be in the pipelines which will be based on “The High Republic” (which will be based on the past).

The graphic novel series (as well as the animated series) is expected to be set 200 years before the events of ‘Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace’. The series will follow a noble and selfless human female Jedi, Jedi Master Avar Kriss. At this point in time, The Sith are nothing but myth, while the Jedi Order reigns supreme.

As of now, the Kathleen Kennedy led production house (which is Lucasfilms) has only revealed that ‘Star Wars: The Bad Batch’ to be in active production, but with the hype behind this series, that may change soon. No title has been set as of yet, but that will change once the series goes into production. Rumors are floating around now that besides “The High Republic” and ‘Star Wars: The Bad Batch’, there will be a third animated series going into development next year.

Currently all of the Star Wars movies (Episodes I-IX) can be streamed on Disney+ Hotstar along with the two seasons of ‘The Mandalorian’ (The second one is still airing and therefore still incomplete).
