Fans are desperately waiting for Netflix’s Stranger Things Season 5. The SAG-AFTRA strike halted Season 5’s shoot. This scenario raised fans’ concerns about the odds of the show’s young cast outgrowing their characters’ age by the time they got around to resume the shooting. However, the latest update should reduce fans’ concerns.
Netflix planned to commence principal photography for the final season in early May this year. But, the streaming platform’s plans got buried due to the writers’ strike. Things were exacerbated after the commencement of the SAG-AFTRA strike.
The actors’ strike concluded on November 9. It means that the showrunners can start filming for Season 5 now.
According to several reports, the crew of Stranger Things plans to wrap up the shoot of final episodes before the end of 2023. The filming can extend up to early 2024. It means we can get the final season next year, putting the issue of ‘age concern’ to rest.
The filming for Season 5 is expected to begin soon. So, fans should not worry about the ages of the series’ main cast members, which consists of Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Finn Wolfhard, Sadie Sink, Caleb McLaughlin, and Noah Schnapp.
The showrunners have taken all the steps to make sure that the cast members match their respective characters’ ages in Season 5. Helmer and one of the show’s executive producers, Shawn Levy, discussed this issue with Variety some time ago. “Our hair and makeup and wardrobe department are pretty exceptional, using costumes and wigs and makeup.”
We should not expect to witness a time jump situation in Stranger Things Season 5, given how Season 4 ended. Let’s see how the showrunners deal with this scenario. Stay tuned for more updates.
