American actor Alden Ehrenreich commenced his career by appearing in ‘Supernatural’, CW’s renowned television series that spanned 15 seasons, and industry veteran Francis Ford Coppola’s films ‘Tetro’ and ‘Twixt’.
His upcoming venture has him being cast against Josh Brolin and Julia Garner for a horror thriller feature film ‘Weapons’, coming from New Line Cinema.
Budding director Zach Cregger’s follow-up to his ‘Barbarian’, a horror film that marked his debut solo outing. The film opened at No.1 at the international box office in 2022 and sits at a proud 93% on Rotten Tomatoes. Starring Georgina Campbell, Bill Skarsgård, and Justin Long in lead roles, that film grossed more than $45 million worldwide.
While more information as to the film’s plot, character details, and release date are being kept under wraps for now, it has officially been defined as an interrelated, multistory horror epic that revolves around the mysterious disappearance of high school students residing in a small town.
The movie will follow the lead and essence of Paul Thomas Anderson’s classic film ‘Magnolia’ with its varied storylines.
‘Weapons’ is scheduled to start filming in Atlanta during mid-May. Up next, Ehrenreich will also be seen as a lead in the Disney+ / Marvel miniseries ‘Ironheart’.
