A few days back, it was revealed that a new ‘Jurassic World’ movie was under development and that David Koepp, the screenwriter of Steven Spielberg’s first two ‘Jurassic Park’ movies – ‘Jurassic Park’ and ‘The Lost World: Jurassic Park’, would return to lend his writing skills once again. As per the latest update, the yet-untitled ‘Jurassic World’ movie has now got a release date. The film is slated for a theatrical release on 2nd July 2025.

Moreover, David Leitch, the director of ‘Deadpool 3’, ‘Atomic Blonde’, and ‘Bullet Train’, is in talks to direct the next ‘Jurassic World’ movie. Another interesting thing about the upcoming project is that it is being backed by Steven Spielberg. David Leitch’s next directorial film is the action-comedy flick ‘The Fall Guy’ starring Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt in the lead roles.

The new ‘Jurassic World’ movie is expected to be the starting point of a fresh story. As of now, the Jurassic Park / Jurassic World film series comprises two trilogies which have grossed over a whopping $6 billion at the global box office.

But the last one was ‘Jurassic World: Dominion’ is considered by many as the worst rated film of the franchise despite its theatrical success. The top two being the first film ‘Jurassic Park’ and Chris Pratt’s ‘Jurassic World’. So, roping in a director like David Leitch for the next Jurassic World movie seems to be a step in the right direction and makes sense.
