A24 has unveiled the official trailer of its forthcoming comedy, Dream Scenario, starring Nicolas Cage. The clip shows Paul Matthews (Cage) becoming a viral sensation after appearing in everyone’s dreams. This scenario puts the protagonist on the world map but also complicates his personal life.
Paul starts his day as a biologist professor just like all his normal days. However, his life turns upside down after he starts popping up in everyone’s dreams, making him an overnight sensation.
Some of Cage’s recent releases, like Mandy, Renfield, Prisoners of Ghostland, Color Out of Space, and more showed the leading man playing bombastic characters. However, Dream Scenario shows the actor playing an awkward and mild-mannered figure, who is not used to receiving too much attention.
Nicolas Cage also appeared as one of Superman’s variants in The Flash this year.
Dream Scenario premiered at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival where it opened to highly positive reviews. The film currently has a ‘fresh’ score of 84% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 25 reviews. It stars Nicolas Cage, Julianne Nicholson, Michael Cera, Tim Meadows, Dylan Baker, and more.
