Night Swim is the kind of film that creates a love-hate relationship with fans; you will either love it or despise it. And, like most global films, it refused to come to India and is compensating with a VOD release, but there is a catch.
Now, it is getting released on BMS Stream and will be available on 1st March, but the price tag will just shock you.
BMS Stream will allow you to watch it for a minimal price of, brace yourself, just ₹999. Now, for the sake of comparison, ₹999 gets you four plates of Biryani or a year of Prime Video or a year of SonyLIV; it’s not that hard of a choice.
In terms of the film, it is no masterpiece and gathered a mixed bag of reviews, most of which showcase the negative side of the film.
Wyatt Russell and Kerry Condon manage to pull off a great show, and it also builds a creepy atmosphere overall. Even in terms of BGM, the show doesn’t disappoint, but that’s the end of the positives.
Though the film manages to create a good environment, there is a lack of scares, and it fails as a horror film. There is also an irregularity of pacing, sometimes slowing unnecessarily.
The ending also leaves a bad taste in the mouth; it could have been a bit more satisfactory. But no movie justifies such a price point; even the purchase cost is more than tickets in the theater, and it will only promote piracy.
