Acclaimed filmmaker couple Nitesh Tiwary and Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari’s Earthsky Pictures have signed a partnership deal with Ramesh Taurani’s Tips Films Limited.
Together they aim produce narrative-driven cinema that will not only appeal to the masses but also have that artistic merit the Tiwarys are known for. Cherry on top will obviously be Tips’ musical credits.
As per reports, Tips and Earthsky are already working on a romantic musical drama titled ‘Disco Star’ starring Ishaan Khatter and Krithi Shetty.
Earthsky Pictures launched its first film ‘Ghar Ki Murgi’ starring Sakshi Tanwar on SonyLIV in 2020. It was followed by Ashwiny’s Netflix anthology ‘Ankahi Kahaniya’ and their documentary ’Break Point’ on Zee5. They have also produced ‘Tarla’ starring Huma Qureshi and Sharib Hashmi and ‘Bawaal’ starring Varun Dhawan and Jahnavi Kapoor.
Interestingly all their projects under Earthsky Pictures have been launched on streaming platforms till now. Although they have been giving hits on the big screen individually as directors.
Ashwiny has helmed films like ‘Nil Battey Sannata’, ‘Panga’, and ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’, whereas Nitesh has directed ‘Dangal’ (India’s highest grossing film till date), ‘Chhichhore’, and ‘Bawaal’ among others. He is also working on much anticipated mythological epic drama ‘Ramayana: Part 1’.
