Nitesh Tiwari, Ranbir Kapoor’s Ramayana Gets An Exciting Update

Since last year, Indian actor Ranbir Kapoor’s acting career has been on the roll. First it was ‘Brahmastra’ followed by the hit rom-com ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’. But the massive icing on the cake is his latest release – Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s gangster action flick ‘Animal’, which has set the box-office on fire.

So, naturally, fans are waiting with bated breath for Ranbir Kapoor’s next film. As per some earlier reports, the award-winning actor is set to play the role of Lord Ram in a big-ticket film based on the Hindu epic Ramayana, which is to be directed by Nitesh Tiwari.

As per the latest update about the film, a Twitter / X user has recently revealed that he had an interaction with Ranbir Kapoor about his current blockbuster ‘Animal’. Moreover, he also said that the actor told him that his next film based on Ramayana will kick-off production in the summer months of the year 2024.

Besides Ranbir Kapoor in the role of Lord Rama, Nitesh Tiwari’s cinematic version of Ramayana will also feature Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita and ‘KGF’ star Yash in the role of the Lanka king Ravana. As per recent buzz, ‘Gadar’ actor Sunny Deol was also in talks to essay the role of the mighty warrior Lord Hanuman, but all this is yet to be officially confirmed.

Making another film on the subject of Ramayana is a double-edged sword, especially after the box-office debacle of another expensive adaptation – Om Raut’s ‘Adipurush’ which featured Prabhas in the titular role. But we suppose that the ‘Dangal’ helmer Nitesh Tiwari and his team are well aware of that, and they must have been cautious before taking the plunge. The film is purportedly set as a trilogy, but flawless execution of the first Ramayana film will be of utmost importance owing to the aforementioned reasons.
