The Telugu remake of blockbuster Hindi film ‘Andhadhun’, which is yet to be titled, has now got a release date. The film which was announced last year but was postponed due to the pandemic will now have a worldwide release on 11th June, 2021.
It is the official Telugu remake of ‘Andhadhun’ and marks young actor Nithiin’s 30th film. Other than Nithiin, the film also stars Tamannaah and Nabha Natesh in lead roles. While Nithiin will reprise Ayushmann Khurrana’s character, Tamannaah and Nabha Natesh will reprise Tabu and Radhika Apte’s roles respectively.
The Telugu version will be directed by Merlapaka Gandhi and produced by N Sudhakar Reddy and Nikitha Reddy via Shreshth Movies. Rajkumar Akella will present the film whose music has been given by Mahati Swara Sagar and cinematography is handled by J Yuvraj.
Nithiin, who got married recently during the lockdown, has a number of titles lined up for release in the coming months. The first amongst these will be Chandrasekhar Yeleti’s ‘Check’ which will release on 26th February. Next will be ‘Rang De’ that is scheduled for 26th March.
The third in the list is the above mentioned official remake of ‘Andhadhun’ that will come out on 11th June. Notably, there is no other film scheduled for release on that date, giving Nithiin and Tamannaah’s remake flick ample scope to attract the audience. The little competition, as known for now, will be from Akhil starrer ‘Most Eligible Bachelor’ releasing on 19th June, which itself will be after a gap of one week.
While ‘Andhadhun’, the Hindi version, was a massive hit both in popular and critical opinion, it will be interesting to see if the Telugu version will be as impactful as the original or not. The shooting for the film is taking place in and around Hyderabad.
