After a postponement of release and much speculation, Malayalam entertainer ‘Saturday Night‘ finally has a release date.
‘Saturday Night’ is a Roshan Andrrews directorial and stars Nivin Pauly in the lead role as Stanley. The movie follows a premise of a group of friends and will also star Siju Wilson, Grace Antony, Aju Varghese, Saiju Kurup, and Saniya Iyappan among others. ‘Saturday Night with Kirukkanum Koottukaarum’ is the film’s full title.
The movie was to release on September 30th but was postponed. Reportedly, the theatre owners received calls from the production house about the postponement after the release date was announced. It is speculated that the film’s release was postponed due to incomplete post-production work. The makers have now confirmed the big-budget comedy entertainer will be released on October 5th.
The trailer promises a fun ride filled with emotions and drama and fans hope this film will break Nivin’s bad spell at the box office. It is to be appreciated that Nivin shows courage in supporting such unusual films as ‘Mahaveeryar’ and ‘Kanakam Kaamini Kalaham’.
Nivin’s last film Mahaveeryar was a failure at the box office. Interestingly, even 2 months after the release, the film has not yet come out on OTT. The movie is Nivin and Roshan’s second team up after the hit big-budget period film ‘Kayamkulam Kochunni’. Roshan Andrrews’ last film was the Dulquer starrer ‘Salute’. The investigation thriller was a direct OTT release on Sony Liv and was well received. Nivin’s next release is supposed to be the highly anticipated Padavettu set to release on October 21st.
With an impressive lineup both as an actor as well as a producer, we hope Saturday Night will be the start of Nivin’s slate of successes.
