Needless to say, Korean shows are immensely popular all across the globe. We can divide their popularity by merely Squid Game. Before the unprecedented success of the show, K-Drama was limited to only a niche audience who were severely obsessed by the shows. But things changed drastically after Squid Game and even those people started binging the show who were highly repulsive to the Korean content.
Even the recently released Netflix show All Of Us Are Dead is on a similar path of becoming insanely popular. Amongst all this generous acceptance of Korean content, you will find Netflix leading the ship.
To counter this act, Disney+ Hotstar brought a new Korean Show called Snowdrop on their platform. It was brought with an intention to provide Korean content on the platform that was missing.
But it looks like the platform has failed its viewers in providing the content they wanted. The reason is, mere Korean content is not enough. The content should have something likeable for the audience. But, it does not appear that the show was appreciated by the audience.
This is clearly visible in the IMDb ratings where the show has got only 6.7K votes as of now. On the other hand, On the other hand, Squid Game has 395K votes. Even “All Of Us Are Dead” has 22K votes which are enough to prove that Disney+Hotstar has failed the audience to bring the hype and experience that they needed.
