Satire and black comedy are genres that don’t ever seem to be going out of fashion. On top of that, when these categories are coupled with blood, guts, and violence, the result is often explosive.
This was observed clearly in Prime Video’s ‘The Boys’. Well, atleast for the first three seasons. One of the highest-rated TV series of all time, ‘The Boys’ has constructed for itself a golden legacy. However, initial reviews for its most recently released Season 4 were lukewarm on top of the lowest Tomatometer score as compared to the other seasons.
Despite all this, the viewership of the show has officially surpassed 55M viewers over its 39-day post-release period! Not only is this a considerable feat considering mixed audience reactions, but it is also a 20% increase from the statistics of Season 3.
One primary reason for this is perhaps, the outstanding season finale. Not only did it conclude the ‘okay-ish’ season with a bang, but also restored the faith of millions of disappointed fans in the storytelling antics of the blockbuster show.
Having reached No. 1 on Prime Video in over 170 countries, ‘The Boys: Season 4’ is the streaming service’s fourth most-viewed TV season of all time and the second most-viewed returning season after ‘Reacher: Season 2’.
Will this powerful statistic continue to be seen in the forthcoming and concluding Season 5 of the show? Or will it reach newer heights altogether? Stay tuned to find out!
