It would be a lie if we downright dismiss the influence of popular culture on Indian youth and content. Valentine’s Day is on the way and it is indeed a big deal for the young folks. Quite obviously, the OTT platforms are taking care of this emotion. The platform has sort of bombarded users with a plethora of content and that too on the same day.
Earlier when Disney+Hotstar was managed by itself then it used to take care of itself. Content timing, spacing etc were perfectly managed. However, after its acquisition by Reliance, things have not been ideal. Even Hotstar is following the usual pattern of JioCinema that would inconsistently throw titles.
So, there are 4 non-fiction titles coming on the occasion of Valentine’s Day. They are:
Yeh Kya Bana Diya (Ranveer Brar’s cooking show)
Ishq Interrupted
Victim Ya Victor
Generations Aaj Kal
Two of them are totally based on the Valentine’s theme but the other two are also coming on the same date for some unknown reasons.
Well, there is no fight as such among the titles but it snatches away the attention of the individual titles. Well, these MTV type of shows are very popular among late teens and we are pretty sure that it would find an audience for itself.
Old school ya new cool!!
