India’s first non-linear single shot film ‘Iravin Nizhal’ (translated as Shadow of the Night) is finally coming to streaming. The Tamil language independent thriller helmed by R Parthiban released at the theatres on 15th July to positive reviews especially for its technical finesse. Iravin Nizhal entered the Asia Book of Records and India Book of Records for being the first Asian non-linear single-shot film. Iravin Nizhal OTT rights were bagged by Amazon Prime Video and will start streaming on the platform from November 11th.
Iravin Nizhal follows Nandhu, a financier played by R Parthiban. The film journeys through the struggles of his internal guilt while searching for his mortal rival. The audience is taken on a ride to follow him, as if they are a reflection of his shadow, eventually leading them to unanswerable questions.
Iravin Nizhal is produced, written, co-edited and directed by R. Parthiban under the banner Akira Productions and Bioscope Film Framers. The film opened to extremely positive reception. R Parthiban helmed directorial hat after his super acclaimed National Award winning ‘Otha Seruppu Size 7’ which was a yet another experimental venture. Otha Seruppu Size 7 also entered the Asia Book of Records and India Book of Records for having a single person writing, directing, solo acting and producing a film.
Iravin Nizhal stars Radhakrishnan Parthiban, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Robo Shankar, Priyanka Ruth and Brigida Saga in the lead roles. The background score and music for the film is composed by A. R. Rahman. The film will stream on Amazon Prime Video on November 11th. Stay tuned for more updates.
