Last week Disney+Hotstar started streaming Taanakkaran. It received widespread appreciation and was indeed a phenomenal film, to say the least. But even after so much rich content, the film is struggling on Disney+Hotstar. We talked about how Bheeshma Parvam and Lalitha Sundaram made it a big success even though they hardly had any buzz amongst the Hindi speaking audience.
But they succeeded because they had the advantage of Hindi audio. The same is not true for Taanakkaran.
As you can see, the film is streaming in 20th position, which is much below than it deserves. A film like Taanakkaran has the potential of creating widespread conversation around it, as happened in the case of Jai Bhim but unfortunately, that small effort is killing that potential.
Makers of Beast are dubbing their film in Hindi knowing that it would be disastrous, but here, there is a lot of potential which unfortunately is far from getting utilised.
Thus long story short, if the makers or whoever is responsible, want Taanakkaran to unleash its full potential then they should immediately work on the Hindi dubbing because the film deserves it.
