Do you love Cobra Kai and have already finished watching the two seasons on Netflix? Don’t worry we have not one but two good news for you. Netflix in its recent announcement didn’t just reveal the launch date of third season but has also renewed the show for the fourth season. The third season of Cobra Kai will premiere exclusively on Netflix on January 8, 2021.

Cobra Kai comes as an extension to the famous film Karate Kid, more than three decades after the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament. Johnny Lawrence’s (William Zabka) life is at a dead end where his past keeps haunting him. He tries to seek redemption and revive his life by reopening the infamous Cobra Kai karate dojo. But soon his old rivalry with now successful, Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) resurfaces as they get involved with new generation karate kids.

The first two seasons of Cobra Kai came as a YouTube original series and became an instant and huge hit. YouTube’s commitment with Sony TV was only till the third season and it told the latter that it won’t be able to stream more episodes. This led Sony to look for a platform where it could premiere the fourth season as well and thus its deal with Netflix came into scene.

Cobra Kai has been created by Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg and Josh Heald, who have also executive produced it via their production company, Counterbalance Entertainment. Both the lead stars, Zabka and Macchio also act as executive producers alongside Will Smith, James Lassiter and Caleeb Pinkett for Overbrook Entertainment and Susan Ekins in association with Sony Pictures Television.

Cobra Kai season 3 will launch exclusively on Netflix on January 8, 2021.
