R Madhavan‘s Rocketry: The Nambie Effect is one of the most awaited films on OTT for Indian viewers. Much to their delight, the film premiered on Prime Video India this week, on July 26. But Rocketry’s premiere on Prime Video left thousands of digital viewers deeply disappointed. The reason – no Hindi version of Rocketry on Prime Video. Only Rocketry in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada languages are currently streaming on Prime Video India.
So what about Rocketry Hindi? When and where will Rocketry in Hindi stream? Well, now we’ve got confirmed info on the streaming details for Rocketry in Hindi.
The streaming rights for Rocketry Hindi version have been bought by Voot Select. The makers of Rocketry have taken to the new trend of selling the streaming rights of their film separately for Hindi and other languages. The trend was set by the pioneering RRR, whose Hindi version streamed on Netflix, while RRR in other Indian languages – Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada – streamed on ZEE5.
It is the same thing with Rocketry. The Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada versions are currently streaming on Prime Video. Now the hotly awaited Hindi version will stream on Voot Select. Voot hasn’t declared a release date yet for Rocketry in Hindi. Our guess is that Rocketry Hindi will stream on Voot Select from Friday, 29th July.
Selling the streaming rights of a buzzy film to different platforms for different languages versions is a win-win for both OTT platforms, as well as the producers of the films. Producers get a chance to earn more revenue on their hard-earned work – a challenge in today’s times. Two or more OTT platforms get to cash in on the craze for a film and rope in subscribers – another tough task today.
