There was a time when we used to hype most documentaries on Netflix India. Primarily because they deserve it. Now, it is a whole different case altogether. Anyway, Champions Trophy is approaching and thus we have a documentary based on The Greatest Rivalry: India vs Pakistan.

There is no doubt about the fact that India vs Pakistan matches are just another war that are fought on playgrounds.

But what did Netflix India do?

Stated facts that a half-hour Google search can be done easily. They also couldn’t grab some ultra-important big shots like Wasim Akram and Sachin Tendulkar.

The thing is this documentary doesn’t even explore the tip of the iceberg. They just look at the iceberg from a distance and that is all they do.

The documentary doesn’t reveal anything that you already don’t know. Virendra Sehwag and Shoaib Akhtar serve as the prime anchors of the documentary that doesn’t cross 110 minutes of run time.

The documentary mostly acts as a sort of bridge between the animosity that exists between the cricket boards of the two countries.

Indian players received a great warm reception in Pakistan and the Indians also did the same.

However, there is practically nothing to discuss about this documentary. It discusses the ban of Pakistani players from the second season of IPL but it doesn’t really talk about the consequences of this decision on the Pakistani cricket board and players.
