Studio Mojo, the studio house which launched India’s first OTT platform iStream.com, has returned and launched Malayalam’s first Independent OTT platform, Koode. Koode which means With you or Together, aims to be a platform where Malayalam content creators can come together to collaborate on new projects for the South Indian (targeted) audience.
Keralites in general, share a lot of content of the regional language around the world on popular apps like Watsapp and Facebook. This new app will provide more content in the South-Indian language and make it easier for viewing and sharing among each other. At a time where ‘share-compelling’ and ‘like-culture’ is the norm, ‘Koode’ hopes to bring in leading content creators and influencers of the Malayalam language, says Radhakrishnan Ramachandran, Founder & CEO of Studio Mojo.
Koode also hopes to be an independent platform for creative creators like YouTube, where they can showcase and promote their talent. They have specifically got a group of writers and experts scouring social media platforms to identify new talent and approach them. They are prepared to scale their production level and create online brands out of them.
Koode has a ‘two-pronged’ approach when it comes to their strategy for creating content – creating original content with these new collaborators and curating content from other social media platforms. The aforementioned writers will be primarily looking into the popular platform YouTube, to find content creators and content ideas for this new OTT platform. Koode is free as of now but they are planning to have an additional pay-per-view model for movies and premium programming soon.
Studio Mojo is one of the country’s leading digital media networks, who manage online assets and YouTube channels for leading TV networks like Sony, India Today, Network 18, ABP, India TV etc. They are also one of the lbiggest distributors of South Indian movies on leading OTT platforms such as Netflix and Amazon Prime. Koode is available to download on Android devices currently.
