Horror film ‘Chhorii’ was an unequivocal hit when it released last year on Prime Video India. The film featured Nushrratt Bharuccha in the role of a pregnant woman, whose unborn child is the target of evil spirits. Directed by Vishal Furia, Chhorii is the remake of Furia’s own 2017 Marathi film Lapachhapi.
We had earlier informed our readers that producers T-Series and Abundantia Entertainment have concrete plans to create a ‘Chhorii’ sequel. Now, there’s an interesting update on the sequel to ‘Chhorii’. Nushrratt Bharuccha has just announced to the world through her Instagram account that the shoot of the Chhorii sequel will begin this week, most likely from Monday. The sequel, tentatively titled ‘Chhorii 2’, is supposedly even more terrifying than the debut film.
‘Chhorii 2’ will pick up Sakshi’s (Nushrratt Bharuccha) story from where it left off in the first film, taking her further into the web of horror. The film will bring back some key characters, as well as introduce new cast members and new scares.
‘Chhorii’ producers Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Vikram Malhotra, Jack Davis and Shikhaa Sharma will continue as producers for the new film as well. Chhorii 2 will also mark a step forward in Abundantia Entertainment and LA-based Crypt TV’s collaboration to create platform-agnostic and genre-defying horror stories. This film will also be the second venture of Psych, Abundantia Entertainment’s vertical focused on horror and paranormal stories.
The sequel of Chhorii marks another collaboration between T-Series and Abundantia Entertainment following their earlier joint efforts, Chhorii, Sherni and Airlift. ‘Chhorii 2’ will also premiere on Prime Video India like the original film in the franchise.
