October Report Of Netflix India; Overall, An Underwhelming Month

Last month was dull at Netflix India. Not only did it lack surprises but also any excitement at all. The month was almost dry and a little appreciable happened at the platform.

But before we begin with the analysis, let’s have a look at some important titles released on Netflix India in October. Mind you that our focus will rest on Indian content mostly.

Series
Indian Predator: Murder In A Courtroom – Miss
Mismatched: Season 2 – Hit

Important Licensed Movies
Laal Singh Chaddha – Hit
Dobaaraa – Miss
Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga – Miss

Analysis
Last month was underwhelming but why are we saying so?

Let’s talk about the series first. Indian Predator series is one of the finest decisions Netflix India ever took. They are not only chilling but promising as well. It’s true that there are risks but the major culprit for the lack of awareness amongst people about the series is not the content, but a poor marketing strategy.

We realize that it is difficult to make memes on such gruesome events, but Indian Predator badly needs promotion.

Talking about Mismatched, the roles were reversed here. Netflix promoted the series well but the content itself was too cheesy and unrealistic to connect with the audience.

The series gained decent views in India but failed to penetrate the global charts of views. Thus, Mismatched remains something that the platform will keep cherishing more.

However, it will help in nothing but disconnect them further from the masses for some instantaneous views.

Let’s discuss movies.

There was no original movie on the platform last month. It is not bad enough to reflect the performance of the platform last month.

Laal Singh Chaddha was a surprise deal where the movie started streaming without any prior notice. However, the movie gained good views for two weeks in which a decent promotion helped.

Other than that, several small films like Dobaaraa, Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga don’t matter much because they keep on popping.

The concluding point is that October was not at all good at Netflix. Except for a promise that November will bring promising titles like Monica O My Darling and Khakee The Bihar Chapter.

Overall, we give 4 points to Netflix out of 10 for October 2022.
