Of 86.8M Disney+ Subscribers, Guess How Many Are From Disney+ Hotstar!!

Earlier this news had come out, how much Netflix India has contributed towards Netflix’s paid membership, globally and now it’s time for Disney. During Disney’s Investor Day, earlier this month it made some of the most amazing news and released the slate of the movies and shows that are supposedly coming from the various franchises that it holds. During that day, they also released the statistics of how many paid memberships were made during the year. Out of all the subscriptions, the memberships includes 11.5 million ESPN+ subscriptions, 38.8 million Hulu subscriptions and a massive 86.8 million subscriptions for Disney+ since its launch last year, November 2019. And out of that Disney+ Hotstar has contributed to 30% of its subscriptions, which is equal to approximately 26.4 million subscriptions. It has already been mentioned earlier that Disney+ Hotstar is one of the hottest brands for Disney.

Disney has plans to take ahead its subscriptions to a staggering height by 2024 with an aim to garner 300-350 million total subscriptions. In the coming years Disney plans to release near to 100 titles each year to attract more and more people. Apart from this they have released a slate of 52 upcoming new movies and shows that will be released directly on Disney+.

Also another announcement that they made during this year’s investors day was the introduction of yet another brand by Disney, called the “Star”. After the immense success of Disney+ Hotstar both in India and Indonesia, it has planned to launch a new platform called the “Star” that will serve as home to the productions of Disney Television Studios, FX, 20th Century Studios and more.

As we saw 30% itself just comes from a single country, it can be safely said how 26.4 million Indian accounts have made their contributions to this. All in all, from the past few weeks it can be measured how much Indian audience has been making an influence worldwide amongst the streaming giants. It is a well known fact for ages now, how India has always been a good market for almost everything and if they succeed in conquering the Indian markets, a brand is set, as this country serves the highest numbers in terms of success when it comes to a brand becoming a winner.
