What happens if you see your entire life age away in a day’s time? What happens when you are completely powerless to stop yourself from rapidly aging and getting decomposed? Yes, you heard it right! M. Night Shyamalan is back with yet another crazy psychological thriller ‘Old’ and this one will definitely make you think.
Earlier yesterday, the first trailer of ‘Old‘ went live and we were like, what pushes Shyamalan to even come up with such twisted storylines! Be it The Happening, The Sixth Sense or The Village, he is always able to leave his marks as a director who always walks a different path.
The trailer of ‘Old’ revolves around a family who’s on a vacation to a remote beach, suddenly starts to unearth mysterious belongings of other people along with decomposed dead bodies. Things go haywire when the members of the family suddenly start aging rapidly, leading to sudden death and decomposition of their own bodies. Now, the remaining family needs to find a way to get off the beach and uncover the secrets to stop aging and untimed death.
An adaptation of the graphic novel named ‘Sandcastle’ by Frederik Peeters and Pierre Oscar Lévy, ‘Old’ features a stellar cast including Gael García Bernal, Vicky Krieps, Rufus Sewell along with Ken Leung, Nikki Amuka-Bird, Abbey Lee, Aaron Pierre, Alex Wolff, Embeth Davidtz, Eliza Scanlen, Emun Elliott, Kathleen Chalfant and Thomasin McKenzie.
Apart from directing, Shyamalan will also produce the film along with Ashwin Rajan and Marc Bienstock in association with Blinding Edge Pictures. ‘Old’ marks the first time Shyamalan has filmed entirely outside Greater Philadelphia as he shot the film in the Dominican Republic. .Old. is set to be released on 23rd July, 2021, by Universal Pictures.
