Diehard fans of the immensely popular series ‘Supernatural’ might already be aware of yesterday’s announcement about the inception of a spin-off show titled ‘The Winchesters’ (via Deadline). The show is reportedly a prequel to ‘Supernatural’ and the untold love story of Dean and Sam Winchester’s parents John and Mary Winchester will be the show’s focal point.
It was further reported that Jensen Ackles, who played the role of Dean Winchester in the original series, will act as the show’s narrator besides also being the executive producer.
However, Jensen’s on-screen brother Jared Padalecki, who essayed Sam Winchester’s role, was apparently unaware of the prequel’s development. Yesterday, Jared took to Twitter and expressed his anguish to have learned about the prequel in the works from Twitter and about him not being involved with the project whatsoever.
In a subsequent Tweet, Jared thanked everyone for all the love but requested them not to send any hate messages or threats.
A few hours later, it seemed that Jared had straightened out the issue as the dashing actor informed Twitteratis that he and Jensen Ackles had a talk about the show and its stage of development. His tweet concluded with the words: “Once brothers, always brothers’.
Jensen Ackles, who is currently in the news for playing Super Soldier in ‘The Boys S3’, promptly replied to Jared’s Tweet.
Now that the popular demon hunter duo seemed to have broken the ice between them, we are thrilled to learn about the intriguing premise of ‘Supernatural’ prequel ‘The Winchesters’ and are waiting with bated breath for the show’s small screen arrival.
Eric Kripke’s television series ‘Supernatural’ first aired in the year 2005 and the story followed the adventures of the Winchester brothers (played by Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki), who emulate their father (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and hunt dangerous supernatural entities. The debut season was an instant hit amongst supernatural aficionados and eventually spanned a whopping 15 seasons that were aired until the year 2019.
