After the groundbreaking successes of Masters of the Air and Dune: Part Two, Oscar-nominated American actor Austin Butler is back in business with his upcoming movie, fellow Oscar-nominee (director) Darren Aronofsky’s ‘Caught Stealing’!
The plot, based on the crime thriller book by Charlie Huston, follows a former baseball player and his unwitting descent into the downtown criminal underworld of New York City in the ’90s. Exhausted and burned out, the protagonist Hank Thompson is plunged into a guttural fight for survival.
Aronofsky is one name in the short list of acclaimed directors working with Sony Pictures. Best known for dark dramas like ‘Requiem For a Dream’ and ‘Black Swan’, he has earned a reputation for making his actors deliver the most visceral performances like Natalie Portman in ‘Black Swan’ and Brendan Fraser in ‘The Whale’.
With his memorable performance as the king of Rock ‘n’ Roll Elvis Presley in Baz Luhrmann’s 2022 biopic Elvis, it is to be expected that Butler will leave no stone unturned in his portrayal of Hank Thompson. Which is to say, this collaboration might just be one of the biggest upcoming hits. Preceding ‘Caught Stealing’, Butler also has ‘The Bikeriders’ coming out in June this year!
