One Crucial Thing Everyone Missed In New ‘Thor: Love And Thunder’ Pics

By Binged Bureau - Feb 05, 2021 @ 06:02 pm

If you guys have been following social media, some of you would have seen a few of the pictures from the set of Marvel’s upcoming fourth movie in the Thor movie franchise – Thor: Love and Thunder. We saw multiple pictures featuring many fan favourite characters such as Thor and Jane, but also Star Lord, Nebula and even Kraglin from Guardians of The Galaxy. But what was more surprising to see was the lack of “Fat Thor”.

Fat Thor is the nickname given to Thor after he became fat during the five-year gap that happened during the “blip” in Avengers: Endgame. This fatter version of Thor was one of the truest portrayal of a character undergoing depression by Marvel, a man (or an Asgardian, in this case) who has lost everything – he lost his mother, the love of his life left him, his father passed away, he finds out that he has a long lost sister but she is evil and has to be destroyed, his weapon Mjolinor gets destroyed, his planet gets destroyed, his brother Loki and best friend Heimdall dies at the hands of the mad titan Thanos, along with most of his people. This is enough to take anyone down the deep lane of depression and that’s what Thor does. And the actor who portrays Thor, Chris Hemsworth had managed to successfully convince the director duo, The Russo Brothers to keep his flabby physique throughout the film.

But such a stark transformation from Fat Thor to “God-like Thor” shouldn’t happen in an instant, nor do we think that is Marvel’s style either. Marvel has always been about sticking with continuity and doing that well, so we expect Fat Thor to grace the screen for a bit, at least before the big, muscular version of him comes back. But we are glad that Thor has faced his demons and has come out on the other side, somewhat intact.

On a side note, with Star Lord, Nebula and Kraglin joining Thor and his friends in Thor: Love and Thunder, we expect this MCU Phase 4 film will also act as a prequel to the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which we expect will also feature Thor and Jane. With the Spider-Man: Far From Home sequel and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness apparently doing the same thing, we expect a lot more MCU characters to be appearing in multiple Phase 4 films/ web series. Which is awesome.
