Is the film streaming on JioCinema? Absolutely not, but the release date is set.
The movie tells the story of J. Robert Oppenheimer, played by Cillian Murphy, who was a key figure in developing the atomic bomb during World War II. It’s got a bunch of famous actors like Matt Damon and Emily Blunt.
“Oppenheimer” did really well in theatres, making $950 million worldwide and winning a bunch of awards, including Best Motion Picture Drama and Best Director at the Golden Globes. Also, the film bagged 7 Awards from BAFTA and now all eyes are fixed on the Oppenheimer explosion at the Oscars.
Even though Nolan has been against streaming services in the past, “Oppenheimer” is now available for streaming on Peacock and will be on JioCinema in India starting March 21st. Yes, after months of painful delay, Indians would be finally able to appreciate the film on OTT.
While Nolan still prefers the big screen experience, releasing “Oppenheimer” on streaming platforms lets more people see it and shows how entertainment is changing. We usually never get any streaming numbers from JioCinema but let’s hope that things go well with the platform.
