Oscar Isaac and Carey Mulligan are the potential new stars to lead the second season of Netflix and A24’s popular series ‘Beef’, according to a renowned international publication.
As per the information, Isaac and Mulligan are in negotiations to star as a couple in ‘Beef’ season 2 which is said to be revolving around two feuding couples.
Earlier, it was rumoured that Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway were approached for these roles that might now be played by Isaac and Mulligan.
Meanwhile, Netflix has not made anything official as of yet including any announcement on second season of ‘Beef’.
‘Beef’ premiered last year on Netflix and was a massive hit. The show swept the top categories at the Emmys in limited series or movie, capturing five total trophies, including the top prize. It also won in all the three nominated categories at the 81st Golden Globe Awards.
Oscar Isaac was recently seen and praised for his role in HBO’s ‘Scenes From A Marriage’, which also got him an Emmy nomination. His upcoming projects include Julian Schnabel’s ‘Hand of Dante’, starring opposite Jason Momoa; and Guillermo del Toro’s ‘Frankenstein’.
As for Mulligan, a three time Oscar nominee, her latest role in Bradley Cooper’s ‘Maestro’ earned her widespread critical acclaim, rave reviews and a Best Actress Oscar nomination.
