Oscar Winning The Holdovers Is Coming To JioCinema

Slowly but surely, JioCinema is building a solid library of content from around the world. With its extremely cheap subscription cost, if JioCinema can tackle the criticism, it is destined to succeed. To enhance its offerings, “The Holdovers” is coming to JioCinema.

To build the hype, “The Holdovers” was successful during the Academy Awards, with Da’Vine Joy Randolph winning the award for Best Supporting Actress.

“The Holdovers” follows a grumpy classics teacher, Paul Hunham, stuck at a prestigious New England boarding school over Christmas break. With nowhere to go himself, he’s tasked with supervising a handful of students left behind.

The group shrinks to just Paul, a troubled but brilliant student named Angus, and the grieving head cook, Mary, who recently lost her son. As they face snowy isolation, this unlikely trio forms an unexpected bond, sharing laughs, tears, and personal growth through the holiday season.

The film received great reviews not just from critics but also from fans. It has a 7.9 rating on IMDb and 97% on Rotten Tomatoes, quite the response.

Besides the excellent script and storyline, the cast is perfect. From Da’Vine Joy Randolph to veterans such as Paul Giamatti, both nail their roles, but Dominic Sessa steals the show in his first-ever film project.

So, when will you be streaming it?

JioCinema will be the destination, as previously discussed, and you can start streaming it on June 16th, Sunday.
