Oscars 2024 Winners: Oppenheimer, Christopher Nolan Dominate!

The much-awaited 96th annual Academy Awards winners have been announced at a glittering, star-studded function at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood in Los Angeles today. The Oscar Awards 2024 were hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, his fourth time of hosting the Oscars.

As expected, Oppenheimer swept the Oscars 2024, winning awards for Best Film, Best Actor, Best Director, along with Supporting Actor, Editing and Original Score. Oppenheimer won 7 Oscars from a total of 13 nominations.

Poor Things is next with 4 wins from 11 nominations, including the eminent Best Actress Oscar for Emma Stone. It is her second Best Actress Oscar, a remarkable achievement.

The Academy Awards 2024 were marked by several illustrious first time Oscar winners. Prominent among them is Christopher Nolan who won his first ever Oscar Award in an impressive career spanning 20+ years. Likewise for Cillian Murphy, who has never won an Oscar Award before today.

Lily Gladstone missed out on creating history when she lost to Emma Stone for Best Actress. Robert De Niro and Da’Vine Joy Randolph also won the first Oscars of their careers today. Auteur Wes Anderson too won his first ever Oscar for ‘The Wonderful Story Of Henry Sugar’.

Sadly, India featured nowhere at the Oscars this year. The sole India-centric documentary ‘To Kill A Tiger’ failed to win the Best Documentary Feature.

Martin Scorsese’s celebrated ‘Killers Of The Flower Moon’ had to go home empty-handed today, as it failed to notch up a single Oscar.
