OTT Platform HR OTT Likely To Shut Down After Owners’ ₹3141Cr Fraud!

Highrich Online Shoppe Pvt Ltd. owners, Managing Director K. D. Prathapan Dasan and his wife Sreena Prathapan who is the CEO, are absconding after their massive financial fraud has become public knowledge. The duo duped thousands of people of Rs 3141 crores, by offering them dubious money-making schemes and then siphoning off their investments. The scam has shaken up the Kerala government and its law enforcement system to the core.

High Rich Online Shoppe is also the owner of HR OTT, the popular Malayalam OTT platform. In the wake of the financial frauds, their OTT platform HR OTT is likely to shut down, or at least suspend operations for the time being.

As per several media reports, the Highrich Online Shoppe and HR OTT owners also projected exaggerated subscription figures for HR OTT. Not just that, on the basis of the inflated subscription numbers, the duo also got investors to invest crores and crores in their largely mediocre Malayalam OTT platform.

In recent times, HR OTT has premiered several Malayalam movies for their OTT releases. Made In Caravan, Nadikalil Sundari Yamuna, Oru Thulli Thaappa, are a few of them with popular actors. HR OTT will also premiere keenly anticipated Roshan Mathew starrer Maharani, and the Rajisha Vijayan-headlined Madhura Manohara Moham.

Most significantly, HR OTT has been looking to debut in the world of original series with its upcoming Sunny Leone starrer Malayalam series Pan India Sundari, directed by Satheesh, to be released in multiple Indian languages.

Looks like all of the above at HR OTT will have to be put on hold for now, with the running away of its owners. Stay tuned to Binged for further updates on the fate of HR OTT.
