TVN’s Our Blues released its first teaser recently. Boasting of a jam packed stalwart cast comprising of Lee Byung-hun, Shin Min-a and Kim Woo-bin, the teaser itself is brimming of slice of life vibes. While teasers can be deceiving, Our Blues definitely looks like it’s going to be our new comfort show. A perfect new obsession for k-drama enthusiasts.
“Our Blues” takes on an omnibus-style drama, which tells the story of diverse characters whose lives are intertwined one way or the other. Lee Byung-hun plays Lee Dong Suk, a not-so-sophisticated man born on the beautiful island of Jeju who sells trucks for a living. Shin Min-a plays Min Sun Ah, a girl with a mysterious past, who has come to Jeju as an escapism very much akin to her character in Hometown cha-cha-cha (2021). Kim Woo-bin plays Park Jung Joon, a ship captain who falls in love with Han Ji-min’s Lee Young Ok, a rookie diver with a bright and bubbly personality. Jung Eun Hee, a fish shop owner, reunites with her past lover Choi Han Soo as they cross paths in Jeju Island away from the hush and bushes of city-life.
The show is not only acclaimed writer Noh Hee Kyung‘s (Its okay that’s love, Live, Dear My Friend) comeback drama, but also Lee Byung-hun’s return to small screen after his super successful Mr. Sunshine (2016) that also featured Kim Tae-ri in the lead. Shin Min-ah recently had a super successful run in Hometown cha-cha-cha (2021), also streaming on Netflix. Speaking to Elle Korea, translated by Soompi, Shin Min-ah said, “I’m filming ‘Our Blues,’ and I think I will be able to show fans a different performance from my previous work. I’m really focused and excited these days. The rich stories portrayed by various actors will comfort viewers a lot.” Another reason fans are excited for the show is because Kim Woo-bin and Shin Min-ah who are also partners in real life are reuniting in this drama albeit not as a couple onscreen. This is also a reunion for Lee Byung-hun and Kim Woo-bin after their film Master (2016).
Fans of the actors and writer Noh Hee Kyung are excited beyond the skies for the drama that’s slated to air on TVN from April 9, simultaneously streaming on Netflix worldwide. Rest assured, Our Blues is one of the most anticipated shows of 2022 and we urge you to mark your calenders. Watch the teaser now:
