These movies are in partnership with regional distributors like FilmKaravan, Shemaroo, Vista India, Niv Arts, Matra Publications and so forth. This will help expand the scope of MUBI India’s channel and shed light on lesser-known films from regional filmmakers.
One such filmmaker that the platform has collaborated with is the highly distinguished Amit Dutta whose award winning films have not been circulated for a wider audience prior to this. His 2010 film, ‘Nainsukh’ will release on July 18th which will be accompanied by the premiere of his latest work ‘Wittgenstein Plays Chess with Marcel Duchamp or How Not to Do Philosophy’ on July 19th. Other titles that’ll also be added are ‘Museum of Imagination’, ‘Saatvin Sair’ and ‘Chitrashala’.
MUBI has also partnered with acclaimed director, Sanal Kumar Sasidharan. His films ‘Oraalppokkam’ and ‘Durga’ along with two others will also be releasing soon.
