English actor Tom Hiddleston had last year reprised his role as the God of Mischief – Loki in the titular web series on the Disney Plus streaming platform. The show’s premise revolves around an alternate version of Loki created during the events of ‘Avengers: Endgame’ movie and how he deals with the Time Variance Authority (TVA) organization to fix the timeline and avert a bigger problem.
Another popular actor who was part of the show’s cast was the Oscar-nominated old hand performer Owen Wilson, who had essayed the role of a hardened TVA agent Mobius M. Mobius, who investigates time criminals. And Owen Wilson has confirmed through a recent interview (with Wired) that he will be returning for Loki Season-2. Not just that, he had also remarked that the second season will begin filming very soon.
Although the words ‘very soon’ don’t give a lot on the precise filming date or month, it is being speculated that Loki Season-2 is geared up to start shooting during the summer months later this year. So, as of now, there is no clarity on the release date of Loki Season-2 also. However, it can be assumed that we won’t see a Loki second season until late 2023.
Besides Loki Season-2, other upcoming MCU phase-4 shows are Oscar Isaac’s ‘Moon Knight’ (March 2022 premiere), Tatiana Maslany’s ‘She-Hulk’ series (mid-2022 release), Iman Vellani’s ‘Ms. Marvel’ (ETA mid-2022), Samuel L. Jackson starrer ‘Secret Invasion’ (ETA late 2022), and James Gunn’s TV special ‘The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special’ (December 2022 release), amongst others.
Owen Wilson, who has been a part of films like ‘The Royal Tenenbaums’, ‘The Grand Budapest Hotel’, ‘Midnight in Paris’, and ‘Wedding Crashers’, will next be seen playing the lead role in a comedy film titled ‘Paint’.
